I find this time of the year is so wonderfully overloaded with differing scents. It’s getting chillier and nature is buckling down for hibernation season, and so should we. There’s nothing better than stepping into your home and it smelling beautifully fragrant, so why not try making an fall simmer pot to fill your home with a beautiful scent. How to below!
- 1 large orange, sliced in rounds
- 1 apple, sliced in rounds
- 3 sprigs fresh rosemary
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 4 whole star anise pods
Place all of the ingredients in a medium size pot and fill with enough water to cover. Then, bring to a boil and then decrease the heat to a simmer. Leave the burner on low and let simmer for however long you’d like.
You can even leave the pot in different rooms for a period of time. Bring back to the stove to get it steaming again. Refresh the water as needed and make sure not to keep the stove on overnight! You can reuse the ingredients for about 3-4 days before discarding them, just keep topping up with fresh water.
