The bedding is then produced by a family run company in Romania. How do I look after my linen?

There is a common misconception that linen Is a tricky fabric to care for but it is actually very durable and low maintenance.

Linen is a natural fabric that becomes softer and more absorbent with use (which is why we are such big fans) and Is a breeze to care for. Here are a few pointers to help you make your linens last.

Linen can be machine washed as well as hand washed. However, dry cleaning is not recommended.

Wash on a warm gentle cycle. A 40 degree wash is perfect for removing dirt and natural body oils, dissolving washing detergent as well as being eco-friendly.

An extra rinse will ensure that any powder residue Is removed as this can deteriorate linen fibres affecting their longevity.

Use a mild detergent and skip the fabric softener. Linen softens dramatically over time so no need to add softener.

Air drying Is best but can leave your bedding feeling a touch stiff at first. To remedy this, we recommend a combination of line and machine drying. Stick your bedding In to the dryer for 10 minutes to soften, then hang on the line or spread flat whilst still damp to allow gravity to get rid of wrinkles.

Please note that linen dries faster than cotton so adjust tumble drier times accordingly to avoid scorching.

At Piglet we love the effortless, elegant texture of natural linen, however, they can be ironed whilst damp with a medium-hot iron, or steamed.

Stain Removal:
We strongly advise trying to tackle any stains as soon as possible by sprinkling with baking soda and adding a few drops of vinegar then blotting (not scrubbing). Bleaching Is not recommended as It breaks down fabric fibres.

We recommend storing your bedding in your Piglet linen bag when not in use to prolong longevity.

What are the benefits of linen?

As well as being exceptionally soft, linen's natural long fibers help to regulate your body temperature as you sleep with its breathability and high moisture absorbency. It's also perfectly weighted which helps to ease you into a wonderful deep sleep.

Linen is perfect for every season - fresh in the summer and warm in the winter. Another great quality of linen bedding is that it gets softer and softer with wear. The production of linen is very sustainable as every part of the flax plant can be used. It is a rotation crop, farmed naturally in small batches. Head to our Journal to find out more about the wonderful fabric that is linen, as well as information on how to care for your linen bedding.

Should I choose linen or cotton bedding?

The choice between the two fabrics is really down to personal preference, however we have listed out the pros and cons of each in our Journal post The Battle of the Naturals which is a helpful resource if you are having trouble choosing!

Can I see the fabrics before buying?

We understand that sometimes you need to see and feel the real thing before deciding, especially when it comes to your bedding. You can order up to five free fabric swatches. Simply click on a color and click on “order swatch sample”.

What is included in a Bedtime Bundle?

A Bedtime Bundle includes a duvet cover, a pair of pillowcases and a flat or fitted sheet, in the color of your choice. There is the option to swap a coloured sheet for a white sheet if preferred. Extra sheets and pillowcases can also be purchased in the bundle as additional extras. Alternatively, you can mix and match to your heart’s content by using our Linen Bundle Builder or our Cotton Bundle Builder  which allows you to add items from our entire linen or cotton bedding collection, for your own unique look.

Can my sleepwear be monogrammed?

Yes it can! Make your sleepwear extra personal by adding your own initials or someone else’s for a very thoughtful gift. You can add this by selecting “add monogramming” underneath your chosen pajamas. Choose from six thread colors and up to three letters. Currently this service is only available on our men and women’s pajama sets, as well as our night shirts. The initials will be sewn above the breast pocket.
